
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four motorists in separate impaired driving incidents across Norfolk County over the long weekend.
On Friday, August 29, officers stopped a vehicle on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe. After testing, a 28-year-old from Norfolk County was charged with impaired operation, following too closely, and unnecessary noise.
The following morning, police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver on Walker Street in Port Dover. Officers arrested a 54-year-old from Mississauga, who faces two impaired driving charges.
On Sunday, August 31, emergency crews attended a collision on Fertilizer Road in Delhi involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The truck driver, a 43-year-old from Mississauga, was charged with impaired driving, while the motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Later that night, police charged a 25-year-old from Norfolk County after a single-vehicle crash in Simcoe.
All four accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe in September.
