Luigi Colangelo of Waterford is celebrating after winning “Ontario’s jackpot” — a total of $2,512,670.80 in the June 21, 2025 LOTTARIO draw.
The retiree, a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, has been a loyal lottery player with OLG for decades. He buys tickets weekly and always chooses his own numbers, adding ENCORE for extra chances.
Luigi discovered his life-changing win early one morning when checking tickets on his phone. His wife thought they had won $25,000, but he quickly realized the prize was over $2.5 million. “As soon as I realized, I raised my hands and shouted ‘Freedom!’” Luigi recalled at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
He says his family will share in the prize, and he plans to buy himself a new car. The winning ticket was purchased at Bradshaw Brothers Family Convenience in Waterford.
