Turkey Point residents are invited to celebrate the opening of their brand-new pickleball courts with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony this Sunday (August 31), from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Turkey Point Park Pavilion.
The celebration includes a light lunch with sandwiches, veggies, desserts, and drinks, followed by speeches, the official ribbon cutting, and the unveiling of a sponsor plaque. Guests will also enjoy inaugural celebrity pickleball games, kicking off play on the new courts.
The Turkey Point Pickleball Committee has been working for more than a year to make the project possible, with support from Norfolk County and local residents. Committee member Doug Johnson noted that many pickleball players have been driving 45 minutes to Tillsonburg just to play.
Now, with courts in their own community, Turkey Point residents can look forward to easier access to Canada’s fastest-growing sport.
