Police in Norfolk County are asking for the public’s help after a large piece of heavy equipment was reported stolen.
The missing item is a Shandong Daou Heavy Industry Machinery front loader, dark green and black in colour, and marked with the model number DA20F.
A photograph of the stolen loader has been released to aid identification.
The equipment, valued in the tens of thousands of dollars, is considered a significant loss for the owner and could be difficult to move or conceal without drawing attention.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk detachment is leading the investigation and appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or has information on the machine’s whereabouts.
Tips can be submitted directly to the OPP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Farm and construction machinery theft remains a recurring issue across rural Ontario, with police reminding owners to secure equipment, use GPS tracking devices where possible, and report suspicious vehicles or activity in agricultural areas.
