Haldimand–Norfolk MPP Bobbi Ann Brady says this year’s Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Convention in Ottawa was productive, even if government progress remains slow.
The annual convention brings together leaders from 444 Ontario municipalities to raise local concerns with cabinet ministers. Brady joined delegations with Haldimand and Norfolk officials, advocating on key projects.
For Haldimand, she highlighted the urgent need to move forward with the Edgewater Gardens redevelopment and pressed Transportation officials on overdue work for Caledonia’s Argyle Street Bridge, as well as safety concerns on Haldibrook Road and Highway 6. Brady also joined Mayor Shelley Ann Bentley in discussing an energy project at the Nanticoke Industrial Park, which she said could bring good-paying jobs and help meet Ontario’s growing power needs.
In Norfolk, Brady joined Councillor Adam Veri and CAO Al Meneses to address the ongoing gas well crisis on Forestry Farm Road. She said the Ministry of Natural Resources recognized it as their most pressing issue and promised to assign a project lead.
