myFM-Oldies and Toyotetsu Canada are hosting a food drive to support The Child Nutrition Network (CNN) of Haldimand and Norfolk. The “All Hands on Deck Food Drive” has become a summer tradition before kids head back to school, helping ensure local students start the year with healthy food programs in place.
CNN supports 49 student nutrition programs across Haldimand and Norfolk schools. These programs provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and morning meals to 9,500 students two to five days a week. In the 2023-24 school year alone, CNN served more than 1.18 million healthy meals and snacks.
Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and managed by Haldimand-Norfolk REACH, Student Nutrition Programs are proven to boost learning, create a sense of belonging, and encourage healthy eating habits.
With one in four students facing food insecurity, organizers emphasize that every donation makes a difference. On Thursday, shoppers can look for myFM and Oldies team members at Waterford Foodland, Real Canadian Superstore, Mike’s No Frills, Wilkinson’s Your Independent Grocer, and Sobey’s Simcoe.
