
Norfolk County OPP are investigating a major aluminum theft and are asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Police say three unknown individuals arrived at a property along Highway 3 in Middleton with a straight truck and stole approximately $50,000 worth of aluminum.
Officers responded to the report of the theft around 9:11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, and have since launched a full investigation.
Investigators are appealing to businesses and residents in the area to review any security footage that may have captured the suspects or their vehicle during the time of the theft. Police are also encouraging drivers with dash cams who were in the area around the time of the incident to check their recordings. Metal recyclers in Norfolk and neighbouring regions are being asked to report any suspicious transactions involving large quantities of aluminum.
