Growing Up on the Farm, a look into local agriculture fueled by KUBOTA. Today we are profiling Austin’s Farm Market and Andrew’s Greenhouse
Andrew Sloot of Austin’s Farm Market and Andrew’s Greenhouse is continuing a multi-generational farming legacy in Waterford. The farm, founded nearly 50 years ago by his grandfather, has evolved from a small berry operation into a popular pick-your-own destination offering a wide range of fresh produce.
The farm now features strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, onions, and cabbage, along with a small apple orchard for fall visitors. Bulk garlic is also available for purchase. The pick-your-own experience allows visitors to engage directly with their food and better understand where it comes from.
Growing up on the farm instilled a strong work ethic in Sloot, something he now passes on to his young daughter. With modern technology streamlining operations, the farm continues to expand while maintaining its focus on community and sustainability.
As interest in local food continues to grow, the farm offers a hands-on opportunity for families to reconnect with agriculture and support local producers.
