Norfolk County is reminding residents that most services and all municipal buildings will be closed on Civic Holiday, Monday, August 4.
All County administration offices, libraries, museums, arenas, and recreation centres – including the Simcoe Recreation Centre and Delhi Kinsmen Pool – will be closed for the day. However, Simcoe and Delhi splash pads will remain open. ServiceNorfolk will also be closed, with regular hours resuming Tuesday, August 5.
Essential and emergency services such as fire and paramedics will continue to operate. Ride Norfolk will not run on the holiday, and transfer stations will be closed.
Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day throughout the week, except in Simcoe. Residents are encouraged to use the free Recycle Coach app for collection schedules and reminders.
Libraries will be closed, but digital services like eBooks, streaming, and online learning are still available 24/7 at www.ncpl.ca.
Residents are also reminded about Norfolk County’s fireworks by-law: fireworks are only allowed two days before and one day after the holiday, and only on private property with permission, never on roads or municipal land. Fireworks must not be used after 11 p.m.
Non-urgent service requests can be submitted anytime at Service.NorfolkCounty.ca. For urgent issues such as water, sewer, or roads, call 1-877-298-5888. By-law concerns should go to the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
