The Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL) has approved two more teams for the 2025-26 season—welcoming the Petrolia Squires and Delhi Flames. This marks continued growth for the league, which now boasts 18 teams across Ontario.
The Squires, with over 50 years of history and two Allan Cup wins (1979, 1981), bring experience and tradition. Delhi enters its fourth season and becomes the OEHL’s first team based in Norfolk County.
These additions are part of a seven-team expansion this offseason. The league will be split into North and South divisions, with each team playing a 20-game regular season. The playoff format for 2026 will be announced soon.
Commissioner Rick Richardson says the league’s success reflects the strength of small-town hockey. Founded in 2023, the OEHL continues to grow under the Ontario Hockey Association, offering high-quality, family-friendly hockey across the province. The 2025-26 season promises exciting action for fans.
