
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a growing number of vehicle thefts across Norfolk County, with multiple incidents reported in the first three weeks of July.
The missing items range from pickup trucks and boats to a golf cart and a personal watercraft.
Bayliner Boat Stolen in Long Point
On July 2, police responded to a report of a stolen 1995 white Bayliner 1600 runabout boat taken from a driveway in Long Point. The 16-foot vessel was on a single-axle trailer and last seen the previous night. Police say there were no signs of forced entry.
Sea-Doo Taken from Turkey Point
In a separate case, on July 4, a 2013 white and yellow Sea-Doo GTI SE 130 was reported stolen from a Turkey Point property.
The watercraft had been left parked behind a cottage and was last seen on Canada Day.
Investigators believe the theft may have occurred overnight.
GMC Sierra Pickup Missing in Delhi
Then on July 5, a 2008 black GMC Sierra pickup truck was taken from a driveway on James Street in Delhi.
The owner noticed the truck was missing early that morning.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the vehicle was locked or if keys were accessible.
Golf Cart Theft Reported Outside Simcoe
On July 11, a 2023 grey E-Z-GO RXV golf cart was reported stolen from a rural property near Simcoe.
The cart, commonly used for both leisure and transportation in rural areas, was last seen by the owner two days prior.
It had been parked beside a barn on private property.
Police are encouraging residents with home security cameras to review footage and contact investigators if anything unusual was recorded during the dates of the thefts.
