
It has been a wild summer so far and it’s been keeping police and dispatchers busy.
But sometimes calls are coming in that don’t really qualify as an emergency.
That was Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the West Region OPP, trying to inform the public of information they can obtain on their own and when they should dial 911.
Unfortunately, many calls are coming in during extreme weather events that tying up the lines.
Sanchuk says there is a ton of information at your fingers tips waiting to help you out, so no need to dial those three numbers – 911.
They’re also encouraging people to follow official social media channels and local media for reliable updates.
