The Norfolk OPP are lacing up for a historic soccer match against international farm workers this Sunday in Simcoe.
That was Constable Andrew Gamble.
He said the Norfolk OPP are always looking at ways to bridge the gap between the police and the public, and this seemed like a perfect event.
The big game goes at 6 p.m. but it is a full day event.
As for Gamble, he will be one of the OPP officers lacing up his shoes.
He knows from the Farms of Norfolk Football Association that the police have tough competition ahead, but he’s not stranger to the pitch either.
The match is part of a Community Day event running from 2 to 7 p.m. at 660 West Street at the soccer fields.
