The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after Brantford Police discharged an Anti-Riot Weapon ENfield, or ARWEN, during the arrest of a 41-year-old man.
It happened on July 1, when police responded to reports of a man threatening people with a knife at a gas station on Henry Street.
The man was struck with the ARWEN, taken to hospital, and is expected to recover.
The SIU is asking anyone with information or video to contact their lead investigator.
