The Long Point Basin Land Trust (LPBLT) is celebrating a $106,300 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), which is helping the organization expand its popular Explore the Outdoors program and connect with more people across the region.
The grant has strengthened LPBLT’s outreach, fundraising, and communications efforts—supporting better event delivery and growing public awareness about conservation, habitat restoration, and protecting at-risk species.
“With support from OTF, we’re building new ways to invite more people to learn, explore, and take action to protect the landscapes that make this region so special.,” said LPBLT Executive Director Wendy Cridland.
MPP Bobbi Ann Brady praised the funding, calling it a vital step toward protecting Norfolk’s natural beauty and biodiversity.
Founded in 1996, LPBLT protects over 1,200 acres across 17 nature reserves in Ontario’s Carolinian Zone. Explore the Outdoors runs through October and includes free, family-friendly events—both in-person and online.
