Haldimand County Mayor Shelley Ann Bentley has exercised strong mayor powers to initiate a leadership change. Effective June 27, Cathy Case is no longer serving as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), as confirmed under section 284.6 (2) of the Municipal Act.
The County has not named an interim CAO. Instead, senior management team members will rotate in the role weekly to maintain continuity. Officials say this approach ensures operational stability and continued service to residents.
The municipality emphasized its ongoing commitment to transparency, responsiveness, and effective governance during the transition.
Updates are expected as the County moves forward with permanent leadership planning.
