The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proudly supporting the Terry Fox National Ride of Hope as it travels through Ontario from June 20 to July 2. The OPP is providing vehicle escorts for Darrell Fox, brother of Terry Fox, and his team as they cycle to raise funds for cancer research and honour the 45th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope.
Among the eight cyclists is OPP Provincial Constable Adam Belanger, a cycling safety advocate, who will ride the full 32-day, 7,000-kilometre journey across Canada.
The OPP asks drivers to be extra careful on roads where the team is present, as more cyclists and pedestrians are expected. No road closures are planned, but motorists should stay alert.
