The Delhi Community Health Centre (DCHC) is calling on high school students to volunteer this summer and help with a variety of projects at their medical centre. Volunteering at DCHC is a great opportunity to complete the 40 hours of community involvement activities required for an Ontario high school diploma. In addition to earning hours, volunteering helps students build useful skills, explore different sectors and possible careers, and learn how to make a positive impact in their community.
If you or someone you know still needs to complete their volunteer hours, consider joining DCHC. To get started, contact Lori at 226-549-4004 ext. 255 or email info@dchc.ca.
Other local organizations are also looking for volunteers. Waterford Guiding needs help supporting Sparks, Embers, and Guides/Pathfinders groups. Volunteering with the Girl Guides can be a fun and meaningful way to give back. Contact Katie Hashimoto at khashimoto@gmail.com, Shannon Bridgeman at shanbridgeman300@gmail.com or visit girlguides.ca/volunteer.
Additional opportunities are available through BRAVA (Brant Regional Association of Volunteer Administrators), CharityVillage.com, Child and Family Services of Grand Erie, and Haldimand-Norfolk Community Senior Support Services (HNCSSS). These organizations offer a variety of roles that can match different interests and schedules.
Now’s the perfect time to get involved and help strengthen your community while earning your hours!
