Two of Canada’s largest outdoor swimming pools will open for the season on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Brant and Byng Island Conservation Areas. Operated by the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA), the pools offer family-friendly fun with splashpads, gradual entry, and ample space for guests.
“These pools offer a unique and memorable activity for people living in southern Ontario,” says Pam Walther-Mabee, Director of Conservation Area Operations for the GRCA. “A low slope entry, all the way around the pool, means that there is plenty of water frontage for people of all ages to enjoy.”
The 2-acre Byng Island pool fits up to 1,000 swimmers and features a diving board, while Brant’s 1.25-acre pool is ideal for younger visitors. Pool entry costs $2.75 for ages four and up, plus a day-use fee.
Alongside swimming, both sites offer hiking, camping, paddling, and more. Learn more at www.grandriver.ca/conservationareas.
