A group of inspiring young men are stepping forward to raise awareness for their close friend Andrew Eastman, who is currently battling brain cancer.
Three friends—Isaac Bracewell, Daniel Peters, and Allan D’Elissio—have committed to completing a seven-day journey, running from Sarnia through Ottawa to the Quebec border, all in support of a great cause.
One of the runners, Daniel Peters, shares with us why they chose to take on this incredible challenge.
Isaac, Daniel, and Allan are running to show their unwavering support for Andrew Eastman and the entire Eastman family.
With Andrew top of mind, the three friends have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds and provide Andrew with a meaningful gift—something that brings comfort, joy, and a powerful reminder that he’s not alone during this incredibly difficult time. Daniel explains the importance of raising awareness about brain cancer.
The team is determined to ensure that Andrew and his family feel the strength of their community behind them. As shared on their fundraising page: “This journey is for Andrew. It’s our way of showing him and his family that they’re not alone.”
They’ve carefully considered the physical demands of running more than 700 kilometres, but say it’s nothing compared to the battle Andrew faces each day during radiation treatment.
Peters notes that while physical training is essential, it’s even more important to prepare mentally for something like this.
Beyond fundraising, the team aims to raise critical awareness about the realities of living with brain cancer. They are encouraging donations of any amount and asking the community to share the campaign widely across Norfolk County and beyond. Peters also shares another powerful way people can show support—for Andrew and for everyone affected by brain cancer.
The fundraiser, titled “700KM for Andrew Eastman,” is now live on GoFund Me:
