
A local tip led Norfolk County OPP to arrest a suspected impaired driver early Wednesday morning in Waterford.
Just after midnight on June 4, police received a report from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver on Duncombe Road. Officers quickly responded and located the vehicle on Culver Road.
After conducting a sobriety assessment, police took the driver into custody without incident.
A 19-year-old, of Norfolk County, now faces three charges:
* Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
* Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
* Young driver – B.A.C. above zero
They are scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 24.
Police thank the Good Samaritan for calling in and remind the public that impaired driving is dangerous and preventable. Anyone who suspects impaired driving should call 9-1-1 immediately to report it.
