The Norfolk Haldimand Hike for Hospice was a resounding success.
Tracey Webster, the organizer of the walk, spoke to us about the overwhelming outpouring of support from the community.
Those hikers didn’t just show up — they brought donations too, smashing their $40,000 fundraising goal and raising over $73,000.
For Webster, that kind of result means the bar has been raised — and the goalpost has officially moved for 2026.
Shannon Porter, a board member, addressed the big question on everyone’s mind: When will we see the hospice finally break ground?
Even with that optimistic date in sight and the impressive turnout, Executive Director Andrea Binkle says there’s still a lot of work to be done to bring the project to completion.
Maureen Russell, who also works with the hospice, spoke to us at the event. She said it’s heartening to see so much community support, not just for the future facility, but for the important programs already being delivered.
She outlined just a few of the programs currently offered to individuals and families navigating end-of-life care.
