Norfolk County council pushing back against Strong Mayor Powers with a letter to the Provincial government.
That was Councillor Kim Huffman who brought the motion to the floor.
For Huffman, she knew it was important to not just her, but the public, to push back on the matter.
This sentiment was echoed by Councillor Mike Columbus.
He feels like Strong Mayor powers is a slippery slope.
The idea to send a letter was well received by fellow councillors.
But some, like Adam Veri, felt like that time for politeness with province was over.
Veri wanted to make it clear to anyone watching as well: Strong Mayor powers was turned down once, and they want to say it once more.
Several other municipalities have also made similar motions.
