Norfolk County offers many resources for parents and children, and Open Doors wants to help families access them.
Open Doors is hosting a valuable Resource Fair for parents whose children receive diagnoses such as autism. Unlike other medical diagnoses, there is often no clear roadmap provided—leaving parents to navigate the journey on their own.
Owner Kendra Pilon says the event is essential, as she knows many parents are feeling lost and overwhelmed right now.
One of the people who knows the benefits of Open Doors, and through them other programs and services in the community, is Tina Swarts.
Swarts is encouraging all parents and caregivers out there to make time to go to the Resource Fair. She knows some people have the “we will do it alone” mentality, but she says these programs are beneficial for everyone involved.
Pilon is expecting more than 20 businesses and programs to attend the Resource Fair.
The Resource Fair runs on Tuesday, June 3rd, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at their location at Simcoe Gospel Chapel.
