A new gym is flexing its way into Simcoe, and it’s not your average fitness facility.
The Training Station, founded by Daryl Borden, is setting up shop in the former Zellers building — a bold choice made for its central location, spacious layout, and high foot traffic. For Borden, it’s about more than just treadmills and dumbbells. It’s about finally giving Norfolk County the kind of full-scale gym that locals usually have to drive to a bigger city to find.
To ensure that quality, Borden sourced gym equipment from Canadian suppliers, keeping the investment local and ensuring durability.
Community response so far has been enthusiastic, with many locals eager to welcome a gym that puts standards and service first. Staying local is also key to Borden’s vision. Unlike corporate chains, The Training Station is proudly family-owned, with roots in Waterford and a focus on keeping the business community-driven.
