When Katherine Vooys adopted a rescue dog with severe behavioral issues, she didn’t expect it to change her life — or launch a thriving Canadian small business. After two hospital visits and months of training, she discovered her passion for dog behavior and opened The Crunchy Canine in 2013.
Now proudly based in Simcoe, The Crunchy Canine has become a trusted name in local dog training. Katherine and her team of Canadian trainers offer private sessions, group classes, day camps, and specialty programs like agility and scent detection — all designed to help local families build better relationships with their pets.
“We’ve really found our footing here in Norfolk County,” Katherine says. “The community has been incredibly supportive.”
The Crunchy Canine also sells Canadian-made raw dog food from Ontario and the East Coast, promoting health and well-being for dogs across the region.
