It’s the busiest day of the year at McDonald’s!
It’s McHappy Day, and we spoke to Simcoe owner Ellen Carew about what the day holds.
There will be plenty of smiling faces serving up food today, with volunteers on hand to help out.
Carew said they’re doing everything they can to make sure there’s no excuse not to enjoy a meal today.
She shared a memory from her very first McHappy Day in Simcoe three years ago—just five days after taking over the business.
From that moment on, she knew one thing: Norfolk cares.
In previous years, the team offered an early McHappy Day celebration for students at Waterford Public School ahead of the big event.
This year, they’ve decided to go even further.
Carew is hopeful that, with this initiative and the usual strong community support, they’ll break a fundraising record this year.
In addition to great food, customers can purchase paper hearts, select socks, and even bestie bracelets to support the cause.
Carew said in a close-knit community like Norfolk, “someone knows someone” who’s been helped by Ronald McDonald House Charities—and today, she’s asking for your support.
