
Five individuals are facing charges following a series of separate intimate partner violence investigations conducted by the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police over a four-day period.
The investigations stem from incidents reported between Sunday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 30, across multiple locations in the county.
In each case, the accused were arrested without incident and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe.
The first call came on April 27 at 5:39 p.m., when police responded to a reported assault.
Officers determined that the victim had been physically assaulted, threatened, and had their property damaged.
A 22-year-old Norfolk County resident was charged with:
Assault – spousal (two counts),
Mischief under $5,000 (two counts),
Failure to comply with Release Order (two counts),
Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – spousal.
Later that evening at 9:14 p.m., officers responded to another reported assault at a different address.
A 49-year-old individual was charged with:
Assault – spousal.
On April 29 at 11:20 a.m., officers responded to an assault on public property.
A 41-year-old was arrested and charged with:
Assault with a weapon,
Fail to comply with Probation Order.
Another serious incident occurred the next day, April 30 at 6:42 a.m., involving threats and arson.
A 31-year-old was charged with:
Uttering threats – damage property,
Arson – damage to property,
Fail to comply with Probation Order (six counts).
Finally, that evening at 5:51 p.m., a 27-year-old was charged with spousal assault after another reported domestic dispute.
