Both the Conservative and Liberal parties saw significant gains in Haldimand-Norfolk last night (Monday), while support for other parties plummeted.
Leslyn Lewis was re-elected as the Conservative Member of Parliament with 57.5 per cent of the vote—an increase of 10 percentage points from her first win in the riding in 2021.
Liberal candidate Colin Walsh also made notable strides, earning 36 per cent of the vote, up from the 27 per cent the party received in the last election.
These increases came at the expense of other parties.
The NDP’s support dropped to just 3.3 per cent, down sharply from 13.4 per cent in 2021.
The People’s Party of Canada saw an even steeper decline, falling from 10.1 per cent to just 0.9 per cent.
