A new play is bringing a heartfelt and funny story to life at Simcoe Little Theatre. Jessica’s Fine Adventure, written by Robert Moore and directed by Val Smith, tells the story of Jessica Quartermaine, a 69-year-old woman ready to rediscover romance after years of living in a quiet, predictable marriage.
Jessica, feeling time slipping away, boldly places an ad in the newspaper looking for love. She asks for suitors who are kind, respectful — and good at grammar! Moore explains her search leads to encounters with three very different men:

The play, full of comedy and tender moments, highlights the experiences of an older woman stepping into her own power. Smith, who has a long history working with Moore, said she was drawn to the character’s hidden strength and the story’s relatable theme of self-discovery.
