Two regulation sized pickleball courts are coming to Turkey Point.
The Turkey Point Pickleball Committee came to council recently looking to move the project forward.
That was Doug Johnson, who spoke at council about the Community Led Initiative.
The county has been converting tennis courts into pickleball courts, but Johnson says the over 400 people in the community they spoke to want to see one specifically made for the game.
The group didn’t come empty handed either.
They have been working with construction groups and community members to make sure they were pitching in to help.
There were concerns raised about the project, namely sound issues from nearby neighbours, Johnson said acoustical sound screens will be put in.
