The Port Dover Sailors may have been swept by the Dundas Blues in the opening round of the PJHL playoffs, but this season was about more than just the scoreboard.
Dundas, boasting one of their best teams in years, lived up to the hype, taking the series 4-0 with commanding wins. The Sailors, who faced early-season struggles after losing key staff, fought hard to turn things around. More than 600 fans packed the Market Street Arena in the valley town for Game 4, showing a passion for junior hockey remains as strong as ever.
Beyond the final scores, the Sailors had plenty to celebrate this season. The Teddy Bear Toss game was a highlight, bringing the community together for a great cause. Veterans Dylan Courrier, Max Jolley, and Myles Stolk each reached the milestone of 100 PJHL regular-season games. Trevor Nunn earned a spot in the Bloomfield Division All-Star Team, while Tyler Demeyre proudly represented Port Dover at the PJHL Prospects Game.
While the Sailors’ playoff run was cut short, their determination, growth, and community support set the stage for a stronger season ahead. The Sailors may have docked for now, but come next season, they’ll be ready to set sail once again!
