Simcoe Little Theatre, is a cornerstone of the community and it takes a lot of effort to produce three shows each season in November, March, and May. Right now they’re looking for passionate directors to bring their creative vision to life. Nikki Wiltac the co-production coordinator and head of props at Simcoe Little Theatre tells us more.
No prior experience is required to apply as a director. Simcoe Little Theatre provides support through its leadership committee, ensuring directors have the guidance they need in making a remarkable production and Wiltac explains it doesn’t end there.
She added the theatre also offers access to a collection of past scripts for inspiration, though new productions are encouraged. Wiltac explains there is a vetting process for those interested and those details are available in their Production Volunteer Guide on their website.
Directors are encouraged to assemble a team, but if they need assistance filling roles such as stage management, lighting, or props, Simcoe Little Theatre has a dedicated volunteer network to help. The theatre welcomes individuals with a passion for storytelling, leadership, and the creative energy of live performance, but Wiltac adds its also a great place to make friends.
If directing isn’t your interest, The theatre seeks volunteers for various roles, including lighting, sound, set design, ushering, and more. A Volunteer Open House will be held this Saturday, March 1st, from 10 a.m. to noon at 33 Talbot Street North, where interested individuals can learn more.
Their next production, Art, directed by Courtney Deelen, opens next week on March 6th.
