The community is mourning the loss of Dr. Malcolm Lock, a dedicated physician and public health leader who served for over 20 years as a Medical Officer of Health. Most recently, Dr. Lock was the Acting Medical Officer of Health for Grand Erie Public Health.
After studying in Ireland, Dr. Lock moved to Brantford, Ontario, where he built a successful private general practice, caring for patients for over 30 years. His commitment to public health led him to serve as the Medical Officer of Health for the Brant County Health Unit and the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit before taking on his most recent role.
Our newsroom spoke with Dr. Lock on many occasions over the years, as he was always willing to share his expertise. Dr. Lock’s leadership and passion for public health left a lasting impact on the well-being of many. His contributions will not be forgotten.
Our thoughts are with Dr. Lock’s family during this difficult time.
