The U13 Simcoe Warriors, sponsored by Twisted Mallais Detailing, dominated the Annual Blue and Gold Tournament in Bradford this past weekend.
On Friday, they defeated the Barrie Trappers 5-2 and tied the Walden Hellcats 3-3 in a tough match. Saturday brought a commanding 7-1 win, earning them a spot in the semifinals.
Sunday’s semi-final against the Walden Hellcats was intense, with both teams trading goals. The game went into a nerve-wracking overtime, followed by a shootout. Simcoe scored in the first round while Walden missed. The Hellcats tied it in the second, but in the final round, Simcoe’s shot hit the net while Walden missed, sending the Warriors to the finals.
Facing the Burford Coyotes, Simcoe sealed a thrilling 3-0 shutout victory. Goalie Rylan Duvall led the defense, securing the gold. Families and fans cheered as the Warriors brought the trophy home to Norfolk!
