Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) and Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home (NHNH) recently celebrated their dedicated staff at the annual OSCARS and Dr. George Marshall Award ceremonies on December 17th. The event recognized individuals who go above and beyond in providing compassionate care and creating a positive environment for patients, families, and residents.
The prestigious Dr. George Marshall Award, named after a respected physician known for his kindness and commitment, was presented to Josh VanLoon. A valued member of NGH’s Food and Nutrition and Housekeeping team, Josh is praised for his dedication, safety commitment, and thoughtful gestures. He also serves on the Health and Safety Committee to ensure a safe environment for all.
At NHNH, Personal Support Worker Heather Ambrosini was named Employee of the Year for her compassionate care and dedication to making residents feel at home. Heather, who also marked 10 years of service, was deeply honored by the recognition.
This year, over 100 employees and physicians were celebrated, with 1,075 years of service recognized. NGH President and CEO, Todd Stepanuik, shared his appreciation for the dedication and commitment of the staff:
“To be recognized by your peers is a powerful reminder of the difference you make every day. Our staff and physicians embody our mission of relieving illness and suffering, and to help people live healthier lives. I’m inspired and grateful for the incredible dedication and teamwork I see at NGH and NHNH.”
The event highlights NGH and NHNH’s commitment to fostering a workplace of kindness, collaboration, and exceptional care.
