
One person is in custody following a house fire in Dunnville that sent five people to the hospital.
The fire broke out on Alder Street just before midnight on on Tuesday (Dec 3rd). Emergency crews, including Haldimand OPP, Haldimand County Fire, and Paramedic Services, responded to the scene.
Barry Pollard, 60, of Dunnville, has been charged with arson – disregard for human life. He remains in custody and is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga tomorrow (Dec 6th).
The OPP Major Crime Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshall are investigating. Authorities have warned residents that police and fire officials will be in the area for an extended time as they continue their work.
