
Lorrie Temple, Superintendent of Education at the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB), has announced her retirement effective March 28, 2025. Temple’s career spans 30 years in Catholic education, with the last five years dedicated to BHNCDSB.
Chair of the Board Rick Petrella praised Temple’s leadership in areas such as early learning, curriculum, and faith-based education, noting her positive impact on students and staff.
Temple began teaching in 1994 with the Halton Catholic Board and later joined Waterloo Catholic, where she held roles as teacher, vice-principal, and principal. She joined BHNCDSB in 2019, focusing on student success and faith formation.
Director of Education Mike McDonald described Temple as a dedicated leader who brought optimism and created lasting change.
Temple plans to rest after retirement but looks forward to teaching new educators at a local Teachers’ College. She expressed gratitude for her career and the supportive communities she served.
