Starting Monday, October 7, 2024, a new walk-in entrance for the Emergency Department (ED) at Brantford General Hospital (BGH) will be open 24/7. This entrance is located next to the ambulance drop-off area on Terrace Hill Street and will be the main entry point for all patients and visitors accessing the ED.
Bonnie Camm, President & CEO of BCHS, said the change will improve patient navigation and access to emergency care.
The A-Wing entrance will no longer serve as the primary ED entry and will return to its previous non-emergency use with operating hours from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The ED renovation project is being completed in nine phases over 2.5 years, with over $7 million raised by donors to support the effort. Patients are asked to follow posted signage during construction.
