COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Local businesses and community groups getting ready for a busy Friday the 13th

Local organizations are getting ready for their biggest fundraising day of the year – Friday the 13th.

Port Dover Kinsmen’s Amie Ferris says are getting ready for a busy event this Friday if last years “off season event” was any indicator.

The Kinsmen will once again have their beer garden at the Elmer Lewis Parking Lot starting on Thursday afternoon and then, of course, again on Friday.

They will also be selling their shirts and raffling off a hard shelled hot tub to raise money for things to benefit Port Dover.

What Ferris loves about Friday the 13th is, with so many people coming in and out of town, it truly is a win-win for all the groups and businesses.

Road closures will begin Thursday started at noon.
