The opening ceremonies for the Paralympic Games are set for this afternoon (1:30 EST) and Canadian athletes have a lot more to play for this year.
The Canadian Paralympic Committee says its new performance recognition program will see athletes who win gold at this year’s Paris Games get 20-thousand-dollars, Silver-medallists will receive 15-thousand and bronze-medal winners 10-thousand, which is in line to what Olympic athletes get.
One of those athletes who could be getting a big pay day is Tillsonburg’s own Charlotte Bolton who at 21 already holds all three Canadian records in the F41 throwing events.
