
A 19-year-old Norwich resident is facing multiple charges after an investigation into intimate partner violence in Norwich Township. On Saturday, August 17th, at around 10:00 p.m., the Oxford OPP responded to a reported assault in progress in the North-West area of Norwich. Officers arrived at the scene, increasing police presence in the area. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported.
A 19-year-old resident of Norwich was arrested and is charged with several Criminal Code offences, including uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, trespassing at night, resisting a peace officer, and multiple counts of assaulting a peace officer, some involving a weapon.
The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
