An arrest has been made in connection with a Brant County homicide which took place almost two years ago. On November 24, 2022, Brant OPP responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence and farm on Salt Springs Church Road around 12:45 p.m. The victim, 82-year-old Gordon Oughtred of Brant County, was found to have died as a result of homicide.
Following a thorough investigation the victim’s wife, 79-year-old Elfgard Oughtred, also of Brant County, has been charged with second-degree murder. The accused is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford tomorrow.
Due to a publication ban, no further information has been released. The community remains shocked by this tragic incident as police continue their investigation.
