
Two reported deaths on the road in Haldimand county was a sad kick off to the long weekend.
On Friday evening, police responded to the single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man from Denfield.
On Saturday afternoon, one person died and four others were injured in a two vehicle collision in Caledonia.
One driver fled the scene on foot – though they were found shortly after and taken into custody.
The person who passed away was a 57-year-old woman from Markham.
The driver who fled the scene, who did suffer minor injuries, is a 26-year-old from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and is facing several charges including Dangerous Operation Causing Death.
