Lighthouse Festival in Port Dover is well known for putting on amazing shows, but a new production hitting the stage this week may take those fans who never miss a show off the beaten path they are familiar with.
That was director Derek Ritschel talking about the two person play “Mary’s Wedding” and what people may be talking about on their way home after the show.
There is a lot of exciting new things about this play for Ritschel – a new kind of play for the theatre, and new actors he hasn’t worked with before.
What isn’t new is his love for the material that he is looking to bring to life on stage.
Evelyn Wiebe plays Mary.
She says this play can connect with a lot of people, especially with those romantics at heart.
Continuing, she loves the unique style of this production and that it keeps her on her toes as an actor.
Daniel Reale plays Charlie, a character he has grown quite fond of.
Reale also spoke about his love of theatre, and why shows like Mary’s Wedding are important.
