More than 400 Ontario patients have been forced into a nursing home they didn’t want to go to.
The province’s long-term care minister says 424 patients out of more than 20-thousand were moved into long-term care homes not of their choosing since a law allowing the moves came into effect in 2022.
The Ontario government introduced Bill 7 to open up space in hospitals.
But one patient and her daughter have refused to pay a 26-thousand-dollar bill they received after declining to move into a nursing home they found “disgusting.”
