Last night, four stations from the Norfolk County Fire Department responded to a fire at an automotive repair shop just outside of Delhi.
Firefighters quickly gained control of the fire, containing damage to the bay where the fire started. No one was at the place of business at
the time and no injuries were reported.
Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $50,000. Upon investigation, the cause of the fire appears to be related to charging lithium ion batteries. The Fire Department reminds everyone not to over charge lithium-ion batteries and to follow manufacturers instructions for their use.
