Companies are looking to guide staff around how they can and can’t use artificial intelligence as the technology proliferates through Canadian workplaces.
Many have begun crafting detailed policies aimed at balancing A-I’s risks with its rewards.
Sun Life Financial, for example, has blocked staff from using external A-I tools for work because the company can’t guarantee that client, financial, or health information will be kept private when these systems are used.
But, the insurer lets workers use internal versions, and encourages them to enroll in a self-directed free online course on the principles of AI and its effects.
