High school students in Ontario who chose to participate in a new skilled trades program will soon be able to spend most of their time in Grade 11 and 12 in an apprenticeship.
Students will spend up to 80 per cent of their time in co-op courses meant to speed up their entrance into the skilled trades.
They will still have to take math and English courses.
The province says the new stream within its Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program will start in September 2025.
