A Norfolk County band, rebrands, releases a new album and sells out in Delhi.
You might know The Smokey Mountain Shine by another name. Before their split in 2018 they were better known as Dry County. We got to sit down with lead singer Jeff Gallagher and chat about the band and their attachment to Norfolk County.
Dry County is incredibly appreciative of the support Norfolk has shown them over the years. Gallagher considers the fans to be extended family and got a little emotional when he considered what they’ve done for him personally.
2018 was a difficult year for Gallagher; Dry County split up, his marriage ended and he parted with his long time manager and friend. He explained that he moved away to Florida and returned to managing restaurants and bars. Until at last, with some urging from friends he returned to music. Gallagher rebranded himself and his new project as The Smokey Mountain Shine. To his surprise and delight some old friends began to return.
Dry County makes it’s return to Norfolk County on June 28th at Capitol 33 in Delhi. However, those tickets sold out almost immediately. The band and venue have now added a second show on June 29th. We asked Jordan Gawley of Capitol 33, if Dry County was a good fit for his venue?
For tickets to the second show, visit the Capitol 33 website here.
